A Message About Coronavirus COVID-19

We’ve been closely tracking the news of the coronavirus (COVID-19) both locally and globally. As you’re likely aware, there are numerous confirmed cases around the country, with some right here in our state. These numbers continue to grow daily. While we know this virus is primarily spread through close contact and respiratory droplets, we want to take precautionary measures to create a safe and healthy environment for us all to gather and worship.

While we are spiritual and biblical, God also calls for us to operate in sense and wisdom. These are not precautions out of fear, as we are not a people who operate in that spirit. However, the following guidelines have been developed for us to operate in wisdom.

We will continue to monitor for updates and will respond accordingly to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. As of March 12, 2020, here are the precautions we are taking to increase health measures and mitigate the spread of germs moving forward.

We strongly recommend that each of you sign up to give your tithe and offering online or via text-to-give (text any dollar amount to 84321), if you have not already done so. It’s safe, convenient, adjustable and can be used on a recurring basis.

Light of the World Church is known for being a warm and loving church where you will receive at least 7 hugs! However, until this crisis concludes, we’re asking that you would replace all hugs and handshakes with smiles and waves. Don’t worry we’ll be asking you to high-five your neighbor again soon!

Our staff is committed to wiping down all equipment, youth areas and check-in surfaces with disinfectant wipes. We are also making hand sanitizer more readily available throughout our buildings.

Now here’s what you can do. If you are coughing, have fever, congestion, vomiting, diarrhea or are generally unwell, STAY HOME! We love you and are praying for you, but we’ll see you when you are healthy and whole. We make the messages available on the app and are currently looking into our streaming options.

Now, let’s come together to worship like only we can!

Because of Him, I am,

Dr. Mike Scruggs, Sr.
